My daughter requested a spiral mobile to hang over my grandson's bed. This is what I came up with. I use reclaimed copper gutter. Hammered a large section, cut a spiral with regular scissors. The metal is 24 gauge I think. folded the center end piece up to add a hook on it. This will be what it hangs from the ceiling with. The colors are achieved by careful heating with a torch. I sealed it with ProtectaClear and added a tear drop glass charm on the end.
